About Me

I am a fully trained and experienced Civil Funeral Celebrant serving bereaved families throughout the North East of England. I am a qualified teacher and hold a PGCE and First Class BA Hons in Health & Social Care. I enjoy both academic and creative writing and penning poetry too. I have studied counselling and advocacy skills and such training has helped to challenge my abundance of empathy into areas that provide strength and support to others at their times of grief and sadness.

I was sadly introduced to the role of the Funeral Celebrant when my most wonderful mother passed away from Huntington’s Disease. Much that I do is in memory of her and I donate to the Huntington’s charity from every funeral service I deliver. I am a qualified member of the Association of Independent Celebrants (AOIC) and am available to travel both nationally and internationally if required. Presentation Script – I will supply a presentation copy of the ceremony for you to keep.

Cost – My fee is £250 which includes an initial telephone call, an in person meeting, ongoing communication and unlimited revision of the service, conducting the Funeral Ceremony at the crematorium of choice, a total of 50 miles of travel and provision of a presentation script and keepsake memento. Extra mileage is charged @ 45p per mile.

My fee is usually paid to the funeral director when you pay your final bill. It forms part of the disbursements along with cremation fees, flowers, etc.

If a Memorial service is of similar length and content to a funeral service then the same fees as a funeral ceremony will apply. For anything involving a much longer or more involved event please get in touch, as fees will vary depending upon what is required.

As a certified UK celebrant, I receive personal information, such as names, phone numbers and email addresses that are submitted to me for the purposes of writing a ceremony script. These stories are valuable and meaningful, and all information received by me is stored securely and only used for the specific purpose of producing a personalised ceremony and will not be passed to any other parties.
